Page 1 of 2 Polyester grades are generally firmer than their equivalent polyether counterparts at similar densities. They come in a range of cell sizes depending on the application. Coarse cells are produced for massage sponges for example, whereas very fine cells are produced for some industrial applications. Esters have good solvent resistance but are more easily hydrolysed than polyether type foams.
